THE FODEN SOCIETY

An independent society dedicated to the study and preservation of
Foden products from 1856 to date.

The Memorial Stone

Members who are familiar with the village of Elworth where it all started in 1856, will be aware that it has no lasting memorial to the Foden legend. Foden society members Allan Littlmore and Brian Lomas have struck upon the idea of placing a large inscribed rock weighing about two tons, at the same spot as the old Foden factory entrance.

Thanks to the efforts of the two gentlemen named above, matters are well in hand and an official unveiling will take place at 11:00 on Monday March 12th 2012 by Mr WL (Bill) Foden, grandson of the founder Edwin Foden. Limited car parking will be available at Elworth Cricket Club a short walk from away. If you would like to attend please inform John Halstead via the website at editor@thefodensociety.org.uk
